All - Looking for a suggestion.
Is there a way I can add another layer to the tracking? Here is the
issue. At the Eventum project level, we have defined a project for each
work program. At this point, I can only define Categories for that
program and I'd really like to have another layer.
Here's and example:
Customer A (Eventum Project)
Category 1
Category 2
Customer B (Eventum Project)
Category 1
Category 2
Our problem is that we'd like to add a little more granularity to the
tree. For example, we'd like something like the following:
Customer A
Software Component #1
Category 1-n
Software Component #2
Category 1-n
Software Component #3
Category 1-n
This way, we'd be able to sort per software component, view reports,
etc. As I said, we're missing an additional layer that would help us
out and allow us some additional flexibility - right now, we're
constrained by the fact that there is only a top layer and one level
below it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mark |

Hi Mark,
A kind of a workaround - you could probably use a Custom Field - a
drop-down that lists all the Software Components. You could then use
Advanced Search to filter out issues based on this drop-down selection.
For reports, atleast I find quite a few inadequacies. So, what I do is
export the (filtered) Issue Listing to CSV and then onto some Excel
Report Templates for further formatting and beautification.
Thanks and rgds,
Watson
