Hi all,
I am writing to ask for recommendation of MySQL testing leaders to
contribute to an open source testing book.
A few of us are thinking about writing an Open Source Testing book. We
have a Neal Norwitz lined up from Python.org, Clint Talbert and Tim
Riley from Mozilla, a prospect from Apache, along with Established
authors, Michael Nygard and Michael Feathers. Is there someone from
MySQL be interested in authoring a chapter about MySQL testing?
*Abstract: *
We're pulling together a proposal for a "Beautiful Code"-style book to
be titled "Testing Open Source Applications" or "Beautiful Tests". The
idea is to have developers from different groups describe how they do
the hard or unique bits of testing associated with their project. For
example, what's special about testing a language interpreter like Python
vs. testing a web server like Apache? What specialized tools have the
OS communities had to build? (Things like build farms and continuous
integration can be taken as read --- we're after the things that a group
like Audacity does to test sound editing, and what ideas can be
generalized from it.) As with "Beautiful Code", proceeds from the book
will go to a charity to be determined later.
Contact me or Tim Riley timr (AT) mozilla (DOT) com before Nov 30th, 2008 if you
are interested in contributing to this book.
Thanks,
- Jerry |
